My career has been in telecommunications IT — starting as a VoIP engineer in the early 2000s and working my way up to Senior Director roles leading data, integration, and automation programs at Crown Castle, LightPath, and now at a regional fiber network operator. Along the way I've sat at the table for 14 mergers and acquisitions, consolidated dozens of disparate systems, and built the data warehouses and reporting platforms that operators rely on day to day.
My toolkit runs deep on Snowflake, SQL Server, Salesforce, Tableau, and UiPath. At Crown Castle I built a process automation program that eliminated more than 20,000 manual hours a month and saved over $20M in two years. At LightPath I migrated 200+ reports off MicroStrategy and rebuilt the company's Salesforce environment from the ground up. R.M. LaPorta Consulting is my next chapter — bringing that depth of work to small and mid-sized businesses outside the enterprise world.
Most data and integration projects fail for the same reasons: scope creep, missing context, and too many handoffs between people who don't share the same picture. When I take something on, I work directly with the owners and operators who actually use the systems. I charge fairly, finish what I start, and if I can't deliver something well, I'll tell you that before we begin.
